CEFCU recently made a $50,000 capital gift to support the Center for Prevention of Abuse's "There's No Place Like Hope" campaign, which is funding the rebuild of Carol House of Hope in Pekin, IL.
Carol House of Hope provides emergency shelter and supportive services for individuals and families seeking safety, healing, and stability. Last year alone, the facility provided more than 3,300 shelter nights.
The new Carol House of Hope will increase shelter capacity by 60% and create space for additional services, including therapy, advocacy, and community education, helping expand access to support in the Pekin area.
"CEFCU’s generous $50,000 gift is helping make the vision of a new Carol House of Hope emergency safe shelter a reality. For the first time, we’ll be able to bring more of our services together in one location in Pekin; a true extension of our main campus in Peoria. That means therapy, advocacy and community education will be more accessible to the people who need them, removing barriers and bringing help closer to home. Safety should not depend on your zip code, and healing should not require a long drive. We are deeply grateful to CEFCU for believing in this project and investing in a safer, stronger community.”
— Carol Merna, CEO at the Center for Prevention of Abuse
CEFCU is proud to support the Center for Prevention of Abuse and its efforts to create a safe, welcoming environment where individuals and families can begin rebuilding their lives. The investment will help strengthen a resource that provides hope, healing, and new beginnings for those who need it most.
