If summer felt a little more “spend” than “save,” you’re not alone. Vacations, dining out, and spontaneous plans can quickly stretch a budget. The good news? Mid-year is the perfect time to reset — and CEFCU has the tools to help make it simple.
Use CEFCU’s Online Budgeting Tools to view your total financial picture, at a glance. Create a budget, track your spending, and more. Seeing where your money went can help you spot patterns and identify easy opportunities to cut back.
Next, refocus your priorities: Whether it’s building savings, paying down debt, or preparing for the holidays, CEFCU offers smart, simple tools to help you stay on track for the rest of the year:
Holiday Saver Accounts. These accounts can help you avoid that year-end financial scramble by letting you set aside money throughout the year. The Holiday Saver Account allows members to open a sub-account to save funds for the holiday season. It’s a simple way to build holiday cash throughout the year while earning a competitive dividend.
Benefits include:
- Automatic Transfers. Build your holiday fund little by little without having to think about it.
- Seasonal Payout. Funds are automatically deposited into your CEFCU Checking account in the fall, with a payout date of October 1 or November 1 of the current year, just in time for holiday shopping.
- Less Financial Pressure. No more relying on credit cards or last-minute budgeting.
- Peace of Mind. Enjoy the season instead of stressing about bills. Plus, CEFCU deposit accounts are federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration.
There’s no minimum age to open (with parental consent), and there’s a low minimum opening deposit of $5. Plus, there’s no penalty for early withdrawals — members can withdraw and deposit as desired.
My Use Accounts. My Use Accounts are perfect for anyone who wants a clearer picture of where their money is going. These flexible sub-accounts let you create individual “buckets” for specific purposes — you can have up to 80 sub-accounts! — so your money is always working toward something meaningful. You can use them to save for such things as travel, car repairs, home updates, pet expenses, and more!
There’s a low minimum opening deposit of $5, or it can be opened by starting a payroll deduction for a minimum of $5. There’s no minimum balance requirement to keep a My Use Account open.
For more information on either of these accounts, visit your nearest Member Center or call 1.800.542.3328.
