CEFCU and Phoenix Community Development Services are excited to announce CEFCU’s support in ending homelessness in Peoria. CEFCU has made a capital equity commitment of $100,000 for Phoenix Manor, a permanent supportive housing development underway to be located at 415 St. Mark’s Court in Peoria, Illinois. Groundbreaking is anticipated in late Fall 2024.
Phoenix Manor creates an opportunity to make significant progress towards ending chronic family homelessness by providing permanent housing and the tools and services for people experiencing homelessness to help themselves, rising toward self-sufficiency with dignity and respect. This development will include 55 efficiency, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units for individuals and families experiencing homelessness who benefit from supportive services to maintain stable housing. Phoenix Manor will alleviate the current waiting list for families experiencing homelessness in the Peoria region. Phoenix CDS CEO Christine Kahl shares, “Housing is a Human Right. Access to affordable, quality, permanent housing is critical to individual and community well-being.”
Matt Mamer, CEFCU President/CEO, added, “CEFCU is proud to support Phoenix Community Development Services and the work they do to provide opportunities and solutions to the community’s most vulnerable population. Phoenix Manor is a vital addition to Peoria and will be a beacon of hope for its residents.”
With assets totaling nearly $7.5 billion, CEFCU serves over 391,000 members through 26 Illinois Member Centers and 6 California Member Centers, the CEFCU Financial Center, the Money Center 24 ATM Network, CEFCU’s website, cefcu.com, the surcharge-free CO-OP ATM Network, and the CU Service Center Shared Branch Network.
